Book fair

Scholastic Book Fair Comes to School

I was so excited this week at school. It was my favorite time of year. Finally the book fair came! Every year Scholastic hosts a book fair at my school. It’s always an awesome time but this year it was way above awesome. They didn’t just have books this year. Just in the library is where they usually have it. This year though it went all to way to the school gym. Of course it wasn’t just books. The gym actually had a little bit of everything. Even our very own Picadome gems had a vendor fair there.

I bought three books. One was called, The Fast and the Furriest.  The other was called How to Survive Middle School.  And the one I’m reading now is called The Grimm Legacy. It’s really good so far.  Look forward to that post.

If you buy from scholastic I promise you won’t be disappointed. They’re awesome!

Christmas books

Hey! Aren't you just so exited for Christmas! I know I am. There are so many things that I want but since this is a book themed blog I want to talk about the books I want.
The first book that I want is called, The Penderwicks At Point Mouette. There actually is a series of these books and this is the third one but I highly recommend the series. The books are chock full of  action, comedy, and just about everything else. I give these books 5 thumbs up and please ask for them this Christmas because if you like fiction, you'll love these.
Second book is, The Life of Pi. I don't know a lot about this book at all. I do know though that it involves animals! Actually I think it has a boy that I think gets lost a sea or something and he like trains a tiger. That was a pretty poor overlook but I've just seen the commercials for the movie so you probably know as much as I do. I'm just saying it looks really good and you might want to put it on your list.
Third is, I want all three Hunger Games books. The reason, my mom convinced me after she read them. She also made me watch the movie and I did do a post on that, with my other blog and I thought that was amazing. Of course that was only the first one. I'm going to trust my mom on the other two.
Next, I was actually recommended this book on one of my posts by someone called prettynpink. It's called Shipwreck by Gordon Korman and after I did some research on this book, I figured that I might like it and decided to give it a try. Prettynpink also recommended me The Cay by Theodore Taylor. At first I didn't know about it because the cover looked a little old but you know what they say, you can't judge a book by its cover. Since I remembered that rule though I read all about it and honestly still didn't think it was the book for me but I'm still going to give it a try.
You can find all these books and more at Hastings. I always go to the one in Richmond KY but they have a lot of other locations. I'm not sure where they are but, here is the URL to their website,  http://www.gohastings.com/custserv/get_store_detail.cmd?storeNumber=695. If you ever need a book defiantly go to Hastings they also do movies, games, and so much more.

From The Mixed Up Files Of Mrs.Basil E. Frankwiler

First off look at that title! I f you look at the book it actually almost takes up the whole page. I mean it's like 10 words long! Don't expect me to type that again.
Second of all, I really didn't care for it that much. Again, just like Frindle I found it boring. It was a different kind of boring though. What I mean is Frindle was boring because it was more for younger kids but I felt like this book was for more distinguished kids. Definitely not for 2nd and 3rd graders.
Have you ever been to New York? Actually you don't even really have to have gone there to know that it is a pretty cool state. I mean just in one city there's the statue of liberty, the empire state building, and one of the most famous parks, Central park. In this book though it didn't have any of that barely. The only big tourist attraction in the book was The Metropolitan Museum of Art which, and I will admit, I would know nothing about that so I'll give them that. Really though, they could have added a little more action.
Even if it was a little boring and made me fall asleep while reading it I loved the ending. I really can't tell you because I'm going to be mean and make you read it.
That's all I have to say so, later people!

Ida B.

What's up guys?! I know I haven't posted in a while but I’ve been working on my other blog, The Bark and you should really check it out. In that long period of time I have actually read 5 books so be expecting some more posts.
Ida B: . . . and Her Plans to Maximize Fun, Avoid Disaster, and (Possibly) Save the World
Anyway, I think you know Ida B. is fiction because just like I told you in my first post, I DON’T READ ANYTHING BUT FICTION! This kind of fiction was weird though. Like I couldn’t figure out if it was dystopian fiction or realistic fiction because it all seemed like it could be true but in a way it was really bad in some moments. So, since I can’t decide if you want you can read the book then post on my page what you thought it was and I would be more than happy to read it.
I’m going to admit, when I first got Ida B. off the book shelf at my library, I thought it said lamb. I truly did but I mean in my defense it had an apple on the front cover and lambs eat apples. Later I found out that there was an apple on the cover because the girl, Ida B. thought she could talk to the orchard of apple trees, her family owned, and that they could talk back.
I think this book would be on a 5th or 6th grade level because it’s just plain hard to read. There are very few hard words but in some parts I didn’t understand what was going on at all. Hopefully it will be different for you if you read it.
I give this book 7 star and yes, I do recommend this book to you.

Frindle

Product Details
Hey:]  Just finished the book Frindle  and kind of found it a little boring. It did however have a very good ending. there are some things that they left out and I just really don't recommend this book to you if you're in 4th grade or up because it's a little childish and plus I'm more of an action or  happy ending reader but that's my opinion. If you're in third or second grade this is the book for you.Well, that's if your not like me. That's pretty much it! See you later:p Oh! And one more thing, the next book I might be reviewing is called Ida B.

THUNDER from the sea

Today I finished an amazing book called Thunder from the sea. It's pretty long and about 240 pages worth of pure clear writing. It was one of the beat books I've read in a long time. It was adventurous, nail biting, terribly exiting. If you like dog books then this is the book for you and at some parts will almost make you cry. Now I'm trying really hard not to tell you what happens so I'm gonna wrap it up. By the way the next book I might be posting on is Frindle so keep an eye out for that.

                                                  Bye:)
